I thought I would write a bit more about our Africa trip today but I stumbled upon these photos of amazing food carvings in Paris about ten years ago and thought I would regale you with them. It’s amazing what you can do with a carrot or two and a beetroot. This was seen just by the side of the road, near some flower stalls. I think. I don’t believe they were for sale, but maybe I am wrong about that. I especially love the group of three goldfish – a bit like the Supremes of long ago – and the kissing birds.
Make of this what you will.!
So intricate! I couldn’t believe it was a beetroot rose. Pity to eat them! X

On a trip to Thailand the carvers would do similar things – it was such a joy to see something made from a raw material you would never imagine used in this way! They are interesting!
