Hot.

Some photos from Dubrovnik yesterday and today.

Amazing pergola with grapes. Our hotel.
The old town. Interesting arches. I have yet to work out what is new and what is really original.
A shop sign which amused me
Junk. But pretty.
We went to Mass at the church of St Blaise. He is the patron saint of sore throats. Didn’t do this particular martyr any good, it seems.
Iced tea in the Arsenal cafe. Supporters even here?
This tapestry covers the wall of a room in the above cafe.
In the evening we went into the old town by a different route. Very imposing
You can see the sea and unfortunately a cruise boat.
We went to the festival cafe. The piano player was belting out her songs to the pleasure not just of the bar but most of the street outside!
The cocktail maker was mesmerising
Today on a walk towards lunch
The cave of the Cave cafe
Me in the cave cafe having my fist Aperol in about five years!
Bougainvillea.

Morning glory and oleander.

  1. Funny what you said about the Aperol spritz… I only drink those when I’m visiting family in Croatia in the summertime… there’s something about the heat that makes them particularly satisfying. The coast used to have a drier heat in the summer but lately it has unfortunately become more humid (climate change, likely).
