Why am I always caught on the hop with Christmas? Every year it comes as such a surprise. I’ve written a lot today, just not on this blog. Can’t do any more. I wish everybody I know and who reads me all the very, very best for Christmas and a much better new year for everyone too.

Will we be able to see family and friends this year or will it be a rerun of last year? Can I even bear to think about it? I don’t believe I can.

This is perhaps a good time to really live for the moment and enjoy the tiniest pleasures.

Mine right now are sitting on the sofa, admiring the Christmas tree and watching a fascinating tv programme about Gabon. It couldn’t be more different from here.
