When I went back to Salamanca in 1992 it was still very much a medieval reaching towards the renaissance university city. It had two cathedrals for the price of one, two universities and lots of cafes and bars. It now had a pizza hut and a Macdonald’s, a toy train to take you round if you were an undiscerning tourist ( we were) and a weekend was enough.

But this time we went for three days and we should have stayed a week. So many new and wonderful things to explore.

When looking for the Roman bridge we came across two museums. The automobile one and the Art Deco. Both very recently built. Both absolutely brilliant. We gave ourselves very little time for the cars, thinking it would be a very small amateurish affair. But no. According to some reviews it’s one of the best museums in Europe.

This is a small selection of the vehicles on display. I canot tell you anything at all about any of them, but in my ignorance these are the ones that cought my attention!

Sadly the art Deco Museum did not let us take any photos. This is such a short sighted rule, as people who take photos spread the word and are anexcelent form of advertisisng for those places.
